Please bring your provisional driving licence and your National Insurance number, so that we can check that you are legally allowed to drive.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits provided free of charge.  Please feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks.

Supercharge your learning by covering the basics in one morning!  We will be covering the same things you would normally cover in the first 4-6 hours of learning (or sometimes longer!).  Taking 1:1 weekly lessons, it could take weeks to cover the basics.  We will be focusing on:

  • Cockpit drill

  • Understanding car controls (especially the clutch)

  • Clutch control

  • Brake control

  • Moving off safely POM / FROG routine

  • Stopping safely MSM routine

  • Changing gear

  • Reversing

Why a workshop?

There are many more people wanting driving lessons than there are driving instructors!  During 1:1 traditional driving lessons, there is a lot of time spent explaining and discussing things, and many learner drivers share the same struggles, and this can lead to frustration or feelings of isolation.

By learning together as a group, this can help the learning process become easier to understand, more enjoyable and more efficient, as we can share the briefings and questions around learning together, before taking to the road to practice.

Who will I be driving with?

Louise Feather (Louise Driver Tuition)

Ashley Bickham (Bill Plant)

Louise and Ashley are both fully-qualified DVSA-approved driving instructors, keen to try something new in the world of driver training.

Everybody at this session is a beginner (or near-beginner), so you can share your questions in a relaxed environment with others like you.  Everybody will have similar questions, so you will be able to help each other.

For the in-car sessions, you will be paired up with another learner (or two) and will drive with either Louise or Ashley to practise on the road the topics that have been discussed. You get two opportunities to learn – once whilst observing and once whilst having a go yourself.
